A designer's home
Architecture designed by Giovanni Michelucci, with original furnishings by the master — a unique dialogue with the landscape.
Between Lucca and Florence, on the hills of Pescia, Villa Colleviti is a designer's home set in a century-old olive grove — silence, material, landscape.
Villa Colleviti is a residence of historical and cultural interest designed by Giovanni Michelucci — one of the great protagonists of 20th-century Italian architecture, famous for the Florence Santa Maria Novella railway station and the Church of the Autostrada del Sole.
Following his rationalist-organic vision, the Villa fits harmoniously into a centuries-old olive grove on the hills at the heart of Tuscany, just a short distance from the art cities of Lucca, Florence, Pisa and Siena, the Versilia seaside — Pietrasanta, Forte dei Marmi — the medieval villages of San Gimignano and Volterra, the nature of Abetone and the Cinque Terre.
Much of the furniture is signed by Michelucci himself: every detail tells a poetics made of calibrated light, materials of Tuscan rural tradition and a sensibility that dialogues with the landscape.
Exposed brick, solid wood, hand-worked concrete: the materials of Tuscan rural tradition reinterpreted in a contemporary key. The light — calibrated, never direct — follows Michelucci's poetics and respects the slow rhythm of the hours.
